Gary Knopf has extensive experience in commercial real estate law, specializing in the areas of acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, developing and financing of commercial real estate, including office, retail, industrial, and mixed-use properties.
Gary began his career at the national law firm of Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP, where he rose through the ranks to become a partner in the commercial real estate practice group. During his time at Troutman, Gary worked on a wide range of complex real estate transactions, including large-scale acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing transactions involving commercial properties across the country.
After 11 years at Troutman, Gary decided to join with 8 other partners to help form Continuum Legal Group LLP. At Continuum, Gary continues to focus on commercial real estate law, helping clients navigate transactions, negotiate leases, and resolve other property management issues. Gary advises national and local developers, property owners, private equity companies, national and local restaurant and retail companies, tenants, among others.
Originally from Atlanta, Gary lives in Buckhead with his wife, Amy, and two kids, Ava and Blake.

- Represents a national quick-service restaurant company in the acquisition and ground leasing of sites throughout the United States
- Represents national “big box” retailer in connection with acquisitions, dispositions, development, leasing and property management issues for its retail projects and supply chain facilities
- Provides legal guidance and transactional support to private equity real estate company in the acquisition of industrial real estate throughout the southeastern United States, including the acquisition of over 5 million square feet in industrial facilities
- Assisted multi-family developer in the development and disposition of several multi-family developments
- Assisted a property owner and developer with the leasing of a 371,000-square-foot Class A office building
- Advised a client on the purchase of a six-building office park in Marietta, GA
- Represented the owner and developer of an office campus in Dunwoody, GA consisting of 600,000 square feet of office space in Phase I of the project and up to 1,150,000 square feet of office space in Phase II of the project
- Assisted the owner and developer of a 26-acre mixed-use site in Alpharetta, GA, in all aspects of the property’s development and in the sale of portions of the project, which is being developed for office, retail, multifamily, and hotel space
